Real-time store visitors: who is in your shop right now

When the live view helps

Open the Live tab when you have just sent a newsletter, published a post or started a launch. You see within minutes whether people arrive, which pages they open and whether they put something in the cart.

The steps in Merchavio

   Open Live

   Open Analytics and click the Live tab.

   Read the figures

   Visitors right now counts visitors active in the last 15 minutes, Active carts the sessions with an add-to-cart in that time, Sales in last hour your paid orders of the last 60 minutes. Without visitors you see a dash.

   See where visitors are

   The map and Top locations show the countries of current visitors. Where they came from lists the referrers of the last 24 hours, below that you see the most viewed pages and a feed of the latest views and carts.

   Privacy mode

   Sharing your screen or streaming? Privacy mode hides the exact numbers.

   

Tips from practice

• Expect lower numbers than in other tools. Only visitors who agreed to the statistics count as persons, so the live figure tends to be on the low side.
• Test in a private window. Your own visits while logged in are not counted.

Common mistakes

• Expecting cities. Merchavio only records the country of a visit and stores no IP address.
